FAQ

Common questions

Does it really work without internet?

Melak’s on-device tutor runs without wifi after setup. When online, answers can be enhanced by Kasina’s self-hosted model (not a third-party API). Practice and CBT are being built to work offline after a hub sync; class sync still needs connectivity when uploading results.

What devices does it support?

Right now: modern phones and laptops in a browser (Chrome or Firefox), installable as a PWA for offline use after sync. A dedicated Android app is on the roadmap after this pilot.

Is student data safe?

We only collect what is needed for learning and class management. We do not sell student data. See our Privacy Policy and data-handling notes for minors.

Is this aligned with the national curriculum?

Practice content follows Ethiopian secondary classroom subjects. Live question coverage today is Grade 12 Mathematics; Grade 11–12 expansion is planned for the pilot. We do not claim official MoE endorsement unless a partnership is signed and listed on Partners.

Is Kasina only for exam prep?

No. National-exam-format practice is one tool. The platform exists to strengthen day-to-day teaching and learning for students and teachers.
